Lowering springs replace your factory springs with shorter, stiffer springs to achieve a fixed drop — typically 1 to 2 inches. They are the most affordable option and use your factory struts or shocks. Coilovers replace the entire strut and spring assembly with an adjustable unit — you can dial in ride height, damping stiffness, and rebound to your exact preference. Coilovers cost more but offer superior adjustability and performance. For daily drivers who want a clean drop, springs are great. For performance-focused builds or shows, coilovers are the way to go.

Kansas City roads are not always smooth — potholes, railroad crossings, and rough patches on I-70 and I-35 are real concerns for lowered vehicles. For daily drivers, we typically recommend a 1.5 to 2.5 inch drop as the sweet spot — low enough to look great and improve handling without constantly bottoming out. Air suspension lets you go lower at shows and raise up for daily driving. Yes. We install complete air suspension systems from Air Lift Performance, AccuAir, and Universal Air. Air suspension gives you the best of both worlds — drop your vehicle to the ground for shows and meets, then raise it back up to normal ride height for daily driving. The system includes air struts or bags, a compressor, a tank, management system, and a controller. Full installation typically takes a day and includes alignment.

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty because of a lowering modification. They can only deny a specific warranty claim if they prove the modification directly caused the failure. Quality lowering springs and coilovers from major brands rarely cause warranty issues. That said, if you are concerned about warranty coverage, we recommend keeping your factory parts so they can be reinstalled if needed.

Not necessarily, but many customers upgrade wheels at the same time for the best visual result. Lowering a car often changes the ideal wheel size — a slightly wider wheel with lower-profile tires fills the wheel well better on a lowered vehicle. We can advise on the best wheel and tire combination for your specific drop height. If your current wheels and tires clear at the new ride height, you can absolutely keep them.

Lowering spring installation typically takes 3 to 5 hours including alignment. Coilover installation takes 4 to 6 hours including setup, adjustment, and alignment. Air suspension is a full-day project — 6 to 10 hours depending on the system complexity and vehicle. Truck drop kits take 4 to 8 hours depending on the drop configuration. We recommend scheduling in advance so we can dedicate the time your build needs.
