Cat-back systems run $400 to $1,200 installed depending on the brand and material (aluminized vs stainless steel). Axle-back systems are typically $200 to $600 installed. Full custom fabrication with mandrel bending and welding starts around $500 and can go to $2,500+ for complex builds. Performance headers add $300 to $1,000+ for parts plus installation. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty for an aftermarket exhaust. They can only deny a specific claim if they prove the modification directly caused the failure. A cat-back exhaust system does not affect engine components — it replaces parts downstream of the catalytic converter. We use quality components and proven installation methods that work alongside your vehicle's existing systems. If warranty is a concern, we can recommend modifications that are least likely to affect coverage.

Most cat-back and axle-back exhaust installations are completed within 2 to 4 hours. Muffler swaps and exhaust tip changes take 1 to 2 hours. Custom fabrication work requiring mandrel bending and welding may take a full day. Header installations take 4 to 8 hours depending on the vehicle (some engines require significant disassembly to access the exhaust manifolds). We provide an accurate time estimate after evaluating your vehicle and discussing your desired configuration.

These terms describe which section of the exhaust system is being replaced. A cat-back system replaces everything from the catalytic converter back to the tailpipe — this is the most popular upgrade because it changes the sound significantly, improves flow, and is fully emissions-legal. An axle-back system replaces only the rear section from the rear axle to the tailpipe — it is less expensive and mainly changes the exhaust note without as much performance gain. Headers replace the exhaust manifolds bolted directly to the engine — they provide the biggest performance improvement but are also the most involved installation. Many performance builds combine headers with a cat-back for maximum flow from engine to tailpipe.

Yes. We install DPF-back and turbo-back exhaust systems on diesel trucks including Ford Powerstroke (6.7L, 7.3L), Chevy/GMC Duramax (6.6L), and Ram Cummins (6.7L). Popular diesel exhaust brands we carry include MBRP, Flo-Pro, Diamond Eye, aFe Power, and Banks Power. Diesel exhaust upgrades improve turbo spool, reduce exhaust gas temperatures, and deliver that deep diesel tone. All diesel exhaust work we perform is emissions-compliant — we do not remove or modify emissions equipment including DPFs and DEF systems.

If your vehicle is registered in the Missouri side of the KC metro (Jackson County, Clay County, Platte County), it is subject to emissions testing every two years. Cat-back exhaust systems are fully emissions-legal because they do not modify the catalytic converter. Removing or hollowing out the catalytic converter will cause an emissions test failure. Kansas does not have state emissions testing, so vehicles registered in Johnson County, Wyandotte County, or other KS counties are not tested. We always clarify your registration state before recommending modifications so you stay compliant.
