A body lift uses spacers between the body and frame to raise the body 1 to 3 inches. It is cheaper and does not change your suspension geometry, but it only creates clearance around the fenders — your axles and ground clearance stay the same. A suspension lift replaces springs, shocks, and sometimes control arms to raise the entire vehicle. It gives you more ground clearance, better wheel travel, improved approach and departure angles, and a better ride quality. For most Jeep owners, a suspension lift is the better investment.

It depends on the lift height. At 2 to 2.5 inches, your factory driveshafts usually work fine. At 3 inches and above, the driveshaft angle changes enough that you may need a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) kit or a CV-style driveshaft to prevent vibrations. For 4-inch and taller lifts, an aftermarket rear driveshaft is almost always recommended. We carry Adams, Tom Wood, and other driveshaft options and can include them in your lift kit package.

The Gladiator JT shares the same front suspension as the Wrangler JL, but the rear is different. The Gladiator has a longer wheelbase, heavier bed weight, and uses leaf springs instead of coils in the rear on some configurations. This means you need a Gladiator-specific lift kit — not a Wrangler kit adapted to fit. We install Gladiator kits from Teraflex, Mopar, Fox, BDS, and Rough Country that are designed for the JT's unique geometry and weight distribution.
