The steering stabilizer is a single hydraulic damper that wears out and contributes to shimmy and death wobble on KC highways. Control arms are one of the most overlooked upgrades on a lifted Jeep. Your factory upper and lower control arms are a fixed length — when you add lift, the axle gets pushed forward, which changes your caster angle and makes the steering feel vague on the highway. Adjustable control arms let us dial in the exact caster and pinion angles for your lift height. On Wranglers lifted 2.5 inches or more, adjustable control arms from Teraflex or Synergy are a significant improvement in steering precision and stability at highway speeds on I-435 and K-7.

Track bars are another critical piece. On a stock Jeep, the track bar keeps the axle centered under the frame. Add a couple inches of lift and the axle shifts to one side — you can see it in the uneven gaps between the fenders and tires. An adjustable track bar from JKS, Teraflex, or Synergy lets us re-center the axle and keep everything aligned properly. We include alignment with every suspension upgrade we perform.

Sway bar quick-disconnects are one of the best 4x4 upgrades for any Jeep that sees off-road use. Disconnecting the front sway bar on the trail lets the front axle articulate fully — each wheel travels independently, keeping tires on the ground over uneven terrain at Tuttle Creek, the Flint Hills, or wherever the trail takes you. JL Rubicons have factory electronic disconnects, but Sport, Sahara, Willys, and other trims do not. We install manual quick-disconnects from Teraflex, JKS, and Synergy that let you unlink on the trail and reconnect for the highway home.

Steering stabilizers deserve attention too. If your Jeep has ever developed a shimmy or wobble at highway speed on I-435 or I-35, the steering stabilizer is the first thing to check. We install single and dual steering stabilizer setups from Fox, Bilstein, and Falcon. A dual stabilizer setup is especially effective on lifted Jeeps running 35-inch tires or larger — it keeps the steering tight and predictable even on rough highway surfaces around Kansas City.
